Offering safe shelter through Hope, Love, and Grace.
Pottstown Beacon of Hope’s mission is based on hope, love, and grace and a willingness to come alongside Pottstown residents experiencing homelessness, by providing year-round emergency shelter and working together towards creating a better community for all.

HOPE
During the 22-23 winter months we sheltered on average 24 men and women each night at our Warming Center that we operated in the basement of St. Paul’s UCC in Pottstown. In total we filled 4,239 beds. We are pleased to have been able to assist 38 of our guests in finding stable housing. We are grateful to the congregation and pastor of St. Paul’s for their unwavering support.

LOVE
We are grateful for the 100+ volunteers who chose to serve our guests. During the 22-23 winter months they served over 5,400 meals, shuttled guests to showers, collected clothing, coats, books, and toiletries, and graciously offered our guests their friendship. Additionally, we had countless community members join us in the clean up of abandoned homeless encampments in the Pottstown area.

GRACE
John became homeless after losing his job during the pandemic. John was a teacher's aide, and after losing his apartment he stayed with friends and family. This became too much of a strain on him and his friends, which is how he became one of our guests. We helped him replace his driver's license, build a resume, and get him to and from multiple job interviews. John was able to land a job in February, doing what he loves, teaching. He was able to save his money and remain a guest with us until he could afford to move into his new apartment.
