Important Code Blue Shelter Announcement
In previous years, Pottstown Beacon of Hope operated our winter shelter every night throughout the cold season. This year, we have made a shift to operate only on declared Code Blue nights — when temperatures drop to dangerous levels or severe weather creates life-threatening conditions.
This change allows us to focus our resources on providing a safe, warm space for those most at risk during extreme cold, while continuing to connect individuals with long-term housing and support services throughout the year.
We remain deeply committed to serving our neighbors in need and will continue working closely with community partners to ensure that everyone has access to shelter, safety, and compassion during the harshest winter nights.

Our intake team will be available every night, regardless of code blue declaration, to ensure guests are provided with resources and survival gear.
-
Yes. We will continue assisting guests through the season as we have done for the past 5 years. While also adding case management to serve our code blue guests better. In-house case management will be offered to all guests who utilize our code blue shelter this season.

PBOH is focusing on finalizing approvals and breaking ground on our permanent shelter. We are eager to invite guests back into our care when we open our permanent home later this year.
